my native roots go back to a few families. my dad’s grandfather came from Uganik bay on kodiak island, his grandmother came from st george, where the natives were shipped from another island to hunt and kill baby seals. my mom’s dad grandmother came from Nome Alaska, as did her father who was half yupik, he was reffered to as an INUK child. my mom’s mom was part kenatize from the kenai area, she was athabascan. we have been mixed for many years, many relatives. I have done lots of research, but there are limited records, that are not property of the churches. my dad was dark complected with jet black hair, but I learned he was less Native than me!! I am not sure, but when you have black hair and are the father of a toehead… I also have a nephew, who looks more native than me, yet is less, but his father my brother was the darkest of the family, go figure. anyway god bless the coast guard :)
