My construction experience is a long haul, so this job for me as a worker was quite small, used to larger scale projects, doing the primary work, this way more of a support carpenter, more akin to my general contractor role. Self care has been my focus while not working, I miss my wife of course, but those cars and dogs, bring such a light to my heart, they love me so much, we as humans are incapable of making that kind of love work, we instead must love in compartments.

I am still grateful for this summers project, coming of a brutal job experience with cornerstone, I have met some great good people, despite my survival technique, I see the good in all, just not all the time, can I be good all the time, not a chance. Even my partner showed me a side I needed to embrace, he a likeable old salt if sorts with a varied resume, and some insights, I usually forgo. Or white boy Rick, who showed he can work, not afraid to get his hands dirty, loves America too, which is commendable with all the rhetoric we bombarded with, Tony,  he too dog, I have to admit, he has a dream job, getting to do the work he wants, at the pace he wants, not afraid to make a mistake two, and quick with the answers, all that and a good eye for what works. That was our crew. I got to meet Noah and Jacob the glaziers which were like an odd couple of sorts, Noah has history with my sunshine, Shavon Mersing, my greatest  discovery daughter, and her man, the hard knocks Wrov, Yeah Noah, such a good heart, just a wear it all in his sleeve all the time, Jacob, he a mystery man for sure, he means well, his family his life, going to have the time of his life raing that baby, and hopefully a few more. My advice is to Jacob is not to get caught up in stale learning, demand a well rounded apprenticship experience, if you like the trade your in, otherwise, go for the gold. Job winding down, my goal is to finish strong and mindfully soak up all that Sitka has to offer, to the views that are neverending, the people and all their wonderful dogs, especially the coast guard, entrusted as guardians of the sea, with all the young souls, so young, yearning for knowledge, to the officers delivering on that promise, their whole lives ahead of them. Yes I miss my dogs, Rhaegar, full blooded German shepherd, he is the captain, Odie, he a pure white husky, neurotic like me, he the smartest, but like me hampered by his emotional persona. Sophia, my dog save, from a homeless life living in a car, she loves her snacks, the newest creature daisy dukes, a bad dog, who gets by, and away with murder, by snuggling like a human torpedo, the cats, well the oldest is kitty squish, black with silky hair, an odd loner, or our girl cat sarge, she the boss cat. Then there minus what a goofy cat. Be good be kind, I’m not as much in survival mode, as wondering what decisions I can make and my last 20 years of life, work and the American way of life
